How to Reduce Noise With Roller Garage Doors

Noise pollution that is created by electronic devices in your home can be frustrating both for your family and your neighborhood. Certain types of garage doors can be very noisy to operate, but there are ways to reduce this annoying racket. One way to lower the noise level of roller garage doors is to replace the steel rollers with nylon ones. This simple change will make the door run almost silently along the tracks.

Automatic garage door models, including the kinds provided by the Hörmann brand, that use metal wire reinforced rubber belts tend to be the quietest because their motors are insulated from the metal casing and the rubber belts make less noise than steel chains. Those with concrete garages might also want to consider installing a noise isolator system which uses rubber insulation on the horizontal track supports to cut vibrations and reduce noise. It's also important to keep the perimeter frame weatherstripping, rollers and track lubricated with regular treatment twice a year.
